and abusers. abusers. the washington teachers union claimed rhee used a budget crunch as a pretext for dismissing veteran teachers. in an article that will be appearing in the february issue of fast company, she says i got rid of teachers who had hit children, who had sex with children, who had missed 78 days of school. why wouldn't he take those into consideration. the teachers union is fighting man. it says if any teachers were fired for abung students, they would have been notified. me say rhee should offer proof of her ak sayings. they are de-- accusations. they are demanding an apology. >> to paint with a broad brush all of our teachers that somehow they were a group of child molesters and abusers and teachers would do not want to come to work, that's simply not true. it's reckless because it can damage the reputation of all 266 teachers who were let go. >> reporter: so far there has been no comment from rhee or her office. d.c. police chief said they're reseverring the accusations and cannot comment at this time. >>> thousands of pro-life supporters hit the national mall for

of the washington redskins. today we heard from him for the very first time. but we're going to begin with gilbert arenas suspended indefinitely. it's the latest blow to the wizards star. the nba's decision coming after he brought guns to the verizon center. en appeared to joke about it with his teammates. fox 5's sports director dave feldman working both those stories tonight. >> when you're under investigation, there's a right way to act and then there's how gilbert arenas has handled this. today the commissioner suspended the star indefinitely saying arenas is until fit to play in the game and adding the punishment could get a lot worse. arenas admitted to bringing four guns to the verzon center last month and last night perhaps the last true. prior to a -- straw. prior to a game, he pretended his hands were guns a his teammates were laughing. today no one is laughing. he said while i intended no harm or disrespect to the nba or anyone else, my gun possession at verizon center and my attempts at humor showed terrible judgment. i take full responsibility for my conduct. arenas will lose about $1

it in washington d.c. and perhaps the key vote against it as well. that really resonated with voters. voters then jumped on the bandwagon and they had a whole mess of other issues that he was talking about that struck with them as well too. issues like jobs, the economy, negative ads, everything, he seemed to score on. and it came back in the form of a big victory tonight. >> rorter: let's talk about health care for a minute because there is this going theory that massachusetts because it has state mandated health insurance, the voters there didn't want to pay for it twice. that's why they were voting against health care on a national level. it would be sort of double-dipping. is that the case? >> reporter: the economic issue was definitely the number one issue. the cost of health care. as far as the double dipping, the national model is paced on the massachusetts model of mandatory health care, but i think that the economy and the things he talked about with jobs and monetary issues were things that voters really liked, talking about lowering taxes for people and businesses across the board

will kick in tomorrow night west of d.c. washington county down to front royal and win winchester on down t shenandoah. light rain develops by late in the day. most of the day just kind of cloudy. some sunshine in the morning. we actually get up to 40 degrees. so 8:00 in the morning, 34 degrees with sunshine. by noon mostly cloudy and 38. by 5:00 maybe some light rain possible. i think well south and west of d.c. it will be 38 degrees. talked about the winter storm watch that is in effect. this kicks in tomorrow night and goes till friday at 6:00. i want you to see it does not include much of the metro area and it is for a combination of freezing rain and snow. so some ice buildup and then maybe a little bit of snow on top of that. here's how things will go as we head on into the early morning hours. we'll likely at 6:00 a.m. still see that combination of snow and sleet out to our west. sleet with maybe a small accumulation changing to snow, even in the metro area. and all rain down to our south and east. a quick look at accumulations because i know so many people like to see this. i'm thin

the ground yet but it will be a matter of a few more hours before it does. advisories for washington advis fairfax, for prince george's county and anne arundel. not to our norpt. maybe that gets changed tomorrow but the heavier totals will not be north. in this case it's all going to be south. in the purple colors, those are for winter store warnings. i think we'll see over six inches of snow in many of those areas. the big headline is tonight. it looks like it will be a little more snow for the d.c. area on the order of three to six inches in general, heaviest as you go on down to the south and again does not get going till mid-morning, wraps up tomorrow night. again the heavy bands will be to the south. still some time for this to change. most of the accumulation we get will be tomorrow afternoon. more details when i join you upstairs good see you in a bit. >>> you know the drill. road crews out in full force tonight making sure they pretreated all the dangerous spots. residents are packing the grocery stores trying to stock up on the basic necessities just in case. >> there's no way i'm

for the washington wizards tonight. a second player has his day in court. javaris crittendon pled guilty to misdemeanor gun charges. it all stems from the locker room confrontation with teammate gilbert arenas. dave feldman is here with more on the news edge investigation. >> javaris scriptendon pled guilty to a misdemeanor charge saying he had a pistol because he feared gilbert arenas would shoot him or blow up his car after the two argued over a card game. crittendon was the other player involved in the confrontation with arenas who pled guilty january 15 for a felony -- to a felony gun charge. the d.c. supreme court judge sentenced the 22-year-old to a year of unsupervised probation. crittendon must also pay $1,000 final and $250 into a victim's fund. >> mr. crittendon has never before been arrested or charged with any crime. he's accepted full responsibility in connection with today's misdemeanor plea. he's satisfied with the sentence that he's been given by the judge in this case and will gladly perform the community service that's been ordered. he looks forward to meeting with the
